Hi everybody.... (expected response would be hi Dr. Nick). Ok joke aside my name is Scott and I live in Germany but I am an American. I was wounded in Ramadi, Iraq in 2005 as a Infantryman in the US Army and now get 100% disability from the VA. My wife is German explaining what I am doing in the land of Lederhosen and Beir but it is cool.

I am very excited to be a member of this group as I really enjoy the CMx2 series of games. I would love to take part in one of the campaigns and am really excited to get my ass kicked a time or two by some of you guys. I don't mind being any side but of course I prefer 'merica.

I own
CMSF with all modules
CMBN with CW module
CMFI

and am willing to get whooped in any of those games.

Thanks for letting me aboard and I hope I can help to contribute more than just being a punching bag for the older guys in game.
For the admins I have some Photoshop skills and am getting into motion graphics so if you need any help in those regards just let me know.

Ok well looking forward to this adventure and am ready to play some epic little engagements.

Thanks again
Scott

I try to model my life after the Dude. My family tells me I am a mix between the Dude and Walter

May I ask what happend in Iraq? I'm a combat veteran also. (Afghanistan/ Dutch Army recon)

We were walking a foot patrol, I just came around a corner onto a bad stretch of road we didn't like to stay on too long, we were just moving about 75 meters up this road to a alleyway so we could maneuver into our objective area, when our terp stepped on a spring loaded mine. He was the man behind me in the file, the mine blew him in half and I took shrapnel to the backside. A piece of shrapnel went through my helmet and by some way or another didn't go through the back head pad on my ACH. The piece was stuck in the pad, unfortunately for me it still hit at a pretty fast speed and it knocked me out for 3 weeks. I woke up in Walter Reed Army hospital with no idea how I got there. Last I remembered was coming around the corner and keeping my weapon trained on a house we took lots of PK fire from. According to my buddies, the shrapnel that hit my helmet must have passed through the terp, which slowed it down enough to not rip the top of my head off.

So now the lower vertabrae are fused together cause of damage to the discs, I have nerve damage in both legs and of course I still suffer from the effects of a serious closed head injury. But I am a combat veteran, so I am happy that I still can function and have all my limbs. I can still make people laugh and generally am enjoying the retired life.

Holy shit dude!!! That is one lucky story to tell.

I salute you

~salute~

I've spend 8 years in the army as a recon infantrymen. I've been deployed 3 times (Bosnia 2x and Afghanistan 1x). Seen alot of combat action but I'm lucky to have come out of it in one piece. I only suffer from PTSD but I can control it now. The laughter of my kids keeps me going.

Loads of folks here with a veteran status so if you need to talk there is always someone that will listen.

The guys from the FGM are one of the best I have ever met. Even I haven't met any of them in real life they feel like my buddies.

Sounds awesome, this seems like a great place for me.

Welcome aboard mate, glad you made it out of Hell as well!
And now you guys know why they always deployed me to WestPac, had I ever been deployed to Europe, they knew if I got around all those blonds, I'd never come back either.
