I know many of the members will already watch these Mark Felton videos. Here's one I wanted to share. I think the Italians are unjustly mocked for being cowards when they really were just under-equipped, poorly trained and badly led. You only have to look up the Lions of the Folgore, which was a name coined by Churchill himself, and the praise Rommel gave to the Italian fighting man.
I think it's lamentable to laugh at these poor souls who gave it their all in a situation that would have been beyond most of us today. I know this rant would be better aimed at YouTube commenters, the forum crew are above all that and I feel there's a healthy respect for all those who saw themselves thrown into a war they probably didn't ask for. I just wanted to share my feelings and a great little mini-documentary. Cheers all.

There are a lot of "keyboard warriors" out there who sit half drunk or stoned in the comfort of their own homes and feel qualified to judge people who fought in the trenches of the world wars.

WW2 is now so long ago and there have been so many movies and games made about it, that it starts to be seen less as something real and more as some fictional setting like Star Wars etc.

A big part of the reason why Germans fought till the end was not bravery but fear of what would happen to them and their families if they got captured and if the Russians took over. A fear that was not unjustified. In comparison, what happened to Italians surrendering to the Allies? Unless they were snipers I guess they would get a pat on the back and a bar of chocolate.

The CMFI campaign A Fleeting Moment, while not depicting the action the video is about it gets referenced in the briefings, depicts a follow up counter-attack towards Gela by the Italians. A really tough campaign, very much recommend it.
