In the month of may (10th until 1st of june) German KIA amounted to about 10,250. Of these KIA almost 20% were killed in the short war against the Netherlands. Including the conquest of France (Fall Rot), they lost 30,100 KIA (another source came up with the number of 44,000 KIA).

Until the 1st of June the Dutch lost about 2,300 , the Belgians 5,500 and the British about 5,000 KIA.
The French lost during the whole war (Fall Gelb and Fall Rot) 123,000 KIA (although I read also a source which mentioned a total of 85,000 and "between 55,000 and 65,000).

Signifantly more defenders were killed then attackers. A big difference with WW1 where the attacker always lost more men.The quality in weapons wasn't the reason since there wasn't a big diference between them.
Most likely it was the big difference in the way the Germans used their weapons and their superior training and tactics.
