Hey Shawn,

I agree and passed your comments on to the HMFIC, Matt McCoppin.
He said he would post something in the Google group forum to bring everyone up to speed.

Looks very exciting, and kudos to you for taking on the CM player's wet dream of a project.

As Bootie says, it'd be good to get something posted in the forums detailing how far along the project is?

I fully understand.

Please post your feelings and concerns there in the google group for Matt to see them and get a fair chance to respond.

Matt is the developer. I am just doing some volunteer graphics.

Remember, the kickstarter is planned to obtain the seed money to DEVELOP the game.
If the game does not have sufficient support, then it will not reach its funding goal and will not be developed.
I think Matt owes you and everybody the best possible glimpse out at the horizon of what he is trying to make and what it will mean to you as a gamer. I think he is expressing it in words a bit better with his latest post there in the google group but I have recommended he also use some graphics to describe it as well.

Please post there and express your concerns!

Maybe you can explain what sets this apart from what others are doing now for Free with other programs? What is going to make this game or supplement to CM a hit? I joined and read through all the posts but am not seeing anything that really grabs me by the cojones! I am pretty excited that this may take shape and help out though. Looks to be on the right track.

Please post in the main google group if you have any questions.

IMHO, the key thing that this game offers over all the current op layer hitch ups is that BFC Steve has stated he will create an official interlink to CM for this game IF the game actually gets developed and shows success.

So, step 1 is to get the game developed! The developers need funds to do that. So, they are going the kickstarter route.
They are not professional fundraisers and the actual kickstarter campaign starts on 1 September. So, you may think they should have it all spit and polished for you to look at today dammit!

Here is the link to the BFC thread about the project and in there is the google group link for you join the discussion group.

To me the long range dream vision is that this game will be an operational layer for all the CM WW2 theaters just waiting for me to have a blast by myself or with my buddies with CM as the partner game directly linked for tactical resolution. Or you let the CO engine resolve the battle. Results are fed back to the scenario save file from your final CM PBEM battle or if it floats your boat, a battle against the AI. Also it will have the ability to take feed by your mobile device for some decisions by your role playing buddies. Everyone can log in 24/7 to see the latest battle status and how the war effort is progressing.
I have specifically jumped up and down to make sure it will be modder friendly and editable. We want to have the capability to slide in a WW2 Topo map as well as home grown user made maps. Notes can be taken in game to pass off as dispatches and reports up and down the chain of command. Topo map overlays can be made in game to make notes on maps for future planning and team discussion and as a method for AAR's to the forums.

Big words in the announcement years ago and after years they discover they want to pay programmers? Are you kidding me?
How long has this been in "development" now? :D

ps: hiring a PhD for a game development? :D

@Bootie

Can you please shutdown this thread?

I made the announcement as a courtesy to FGM and provided links to where folks can go.
I even answered a few questions after that.
But now the troll vultures are circling and I have to be moving on.

Thanks.

Eniced. No sir, not you. Your questions were respectfully asked and I think I respectfully answered. But again, I encourage all those wuth questions to go to the main site and ask away! The kickstarter on 1 Sep will of course have much more info. I have recommended they get a FAQ together and nobody should ever be expected to lend a penny if they have misgivings.
