Please... Call me Smokey.
In the summer I fly R/C combat. Missed ace by a couple of kills last season. We fly Gremlins, mine having the Red Baron motif (the guys at the field call me The Baron). Love WW1 planes.
In the winter I like to build static models of pre-WWII subjects. At the moment that would be the Saratoga CV-3 as depicted in 1939 which still has biplanes on her deck. I like warships and warplanes, so an aircraft carrier seems very logical to me. I found the Military History section invaluable. Lots of great photos. For me, 2/3's the fun of building a model is researching the subject and learning its history. The modeling section also has a lot of excellent info, links and photos.
I'm not much of a wargamer, though I used to play Axis and Allies and, of course, Risk pretty regularly in past years.
Thanks for having me,
Smokey
