Looking for a Battle

Okay, here I go. Looking for an opponent for a game, either CMFB or CMBN. I do have Dropbox and H2HH but I have not used them in conjunction yet. I still have that learning curve and the fighting against other opponents. I am open to any battle.

Hi Kromyr,
I think I have recovered from my latest defeat! But all good! you always learn something.
Happy to play a scenario or QB. I have no preference re sides. Usually play at Elite level. 45-60 mins.
I have been trying to improve on defence, so if you want an attack scenario/QB that is fine also.
I have H2HH and Dropbox.

I'll try Elite level, never did that before. I feel more comfortable playing the Germans but I surely can do the attack. Did you want to set up a QB to the size you like? I never used H2HH with dropbox in this manner before and I don't know what the first steps would be.

Hi Kromyr,
I have sent a DB invite with Turn 001 for the CMFB scenario Lanzerath Ridge, Axis attack, 30 mins.
Thought I would use this one as it is relatively short, smallish map, just to get you familiar with H2H procedures etc.
Have tried this in SP as axis, it is a tough challenge!
The other Axis attack scenarios are one hour plus.
Up to you whether you want this to be a "friendly" or a ladder game.
Once you accept the DB invite you will have to tell H2HH where the incoming files are located - H2HH Edit Game.

It took some tinkering but I think I finally got it. Tell if it is otherwise.

If you are on the ladder and would like to, I'm game. I'll have to learn one way or the other.

Everything looks like it is in place from my perspective. If H2Hh is transferring the files correctly at your end the admin steps are complete.
I'm generally good for a turn a day. I'll advise if I have any lengthy periods away from the keyboard.
Good Luck!

Looks like it's working here. I should be able to do one turn a day as well. Thanks and good luck to you too!

Last night's "turn-fest" was exciting. Sadly I will be away this weekend but I will return Sunday evening (your early Monday morning if you are down under). I will eagerly renew our friendly hostilities.

OK, thx for the heads up.
I don't think I am doing as well as the AI!

Thank you for the game. I was not able to open the H2HH game chat. Sorry. I must be doing something wrong there.

Well done on your TV!
You may have an older version of H2HH re the chat issue. I have 1.7.3 - I have put a copy in the Dropbox if yours is older.
If you want another game I would be interested in a Probe with myself as the defender - have to get better eventually!
Either side, any game that you have, Elite.
If not, that is fine also.
thx

Thanks for the updated H2HH. Sure, when I have some time this evening I will look for one and see if I can get it to start up with CMH and Dropbox.

After seeing the end of the game, my thoughts were that the US forces were too small for a good h2h game. There was no breathing room to take casualties despite the Germans having almost exclusively green or conscript troops. The abundance of lmg's in the squads allowed me to lay heavy suppression fire. Even if they were not terribly accurate I remember an instructor once acclaimed, "Accuracy through volume!" (that was a kick in the groin for those who were not good shots ;)) The german company had 18 MG-34 or 42's! Plus two additional ones in the heavy role. That was a lot of lead flying your way. I thought you had it tough as the defender on that battle. That's my two cents.

I presume I left the defenders in the "up" position too long, although I thought their foxholes would afford some protection.
A competent defence initially but brittle to the onslaught you described.

I do not know if keeping them hidden and ambushing the units when they're in the open could have worked. I also do not remember if you had any locations to fire from defilade and into enfilade on that map.

Okay, I started Last Man Out. It says its a small, 35 min, Axis probe. I hope this is for your liking.

Sounds fine. Don't think I have seen it mentioned on the forum either.
