Looking for a pbem opponent

Hi guys,

I spent the best part of two hours yesterday carefully setting up a Fallschirmjager company into keyholed defensive positions against the AI in a QB, hoping to get a half-decent fight out of it. Clicked go and within 30s it became clear that the AI had selected a force consisting almost entirely of armoured cars and halftracks. I won the scenario just using my Pz IIIM and Marder II support units.

I need a challenge! Anybody willing to oblige? I would prefer CMFI at the moment, since my BN/MG installation is having licensing issues (bought MG on Saturday and haven't been able to play BN since). I don't mind attack/defense/ME and I don't mind Allied/Axis, so PM me and I'll send through some email details.

I should be able to maintain minimum 1 turn per evening, probably more at weekends.

Cheers.

Owen,

I would be keen for a game. Do you have dropbox and Pbem Helper?

Hi Owen,

are you the Owen that I played a match with already? Maybe? If so, I say WELCOME BACK, MATE! :)

Anyway, I would like to play a match with you in CMFI - an Allied Attack with me as the Allies and you may play the Fallschirmjaegers as you planned to do against the AI *gg! ;)

But before we can start you need to register at the club's ladder, please.

OK, further details of the battle will be figured out later then. ;)

Thanks for the offers, guys. I will register on the ladder tomorrow evening. I have Dropbox but will need to be walked through the steps of using it the first turn or so.

Look forward to playing you both!

Great! Thx! :)

The Combat Mission Game installs itself in Windows 7 under "Own Documents" (I'm using a German version of Win7 - hope my translation is nearly correct...)
in a folder called "Battlefront" -> Letter "B".

So I've installed my Dropbox (-> Letter "D") also in "own documents".

Now they are very close together in my Windows Explorer. ;)

I'm going to send you a dropbox invitation via e-mail, which you need to confirm, please. Then we both have a common db-folder on our computer. And from there
we take the turns by copy/paste (I'm always saving/pasting the turns into the game's "saved games" folder and viseversa we put in
the "outgoing e-mail"-files there.

It's very easy to use.

Right, Shorker, I'm ready to roll with that dropbox folder - would you like to send a setup file?

Spartan, has my offer to share a dropbox folder worked?

Owen we should have the dropbox share working. Ive sent a CMFI scenario. Check and let me know if you have it ok. If doesnt suit ill change it.

Mike

Got the file, Mike. I haven't played this scenario before - should be interesting!

Didn't have to do anything; just added my password then got the return file. You're up!

Yeah, I'm 'Tux'. Might change my name on here to match in a bit...

Map looks good - turn in the folder.

If you are interested in my personal humble opinion - "Owen" is a cool name but "Tux" sounds more like a gameplayer's nickname.
But you can't change your FGM name in this forum (as far as I know). You need to register again as "Tux". Better you do it now
as you have only 10 posts at the moment - no big deal ro catch up with as "Tux".

(But on the other hand - you can always change your name at the ladder).

Hmmm. Yes, I never intended to use 'Owen', to be honest. Can none of the admin staff change the name on this account? I'll re-register if I have to but it will be an annoyance, lol.

Re-registering is the easiest way - and the only one (as far as I know).

But we may ask @Bootie for final clearance and advice. ;)

Hey cool, boss! :)

Danke, Shane! ;)

Recruit, say thank you to the uncle... *gg! :D
