I'm interested in playing a quick battle against someone in Fortress Italy (all modules), Cold War, Battle for Normandy (Commonwealth forces expansion only), or Shock Force 2 (all modules). A slight preference for... I think a bit of Cold War would be fun, or playing as the Marines in Shock Force 2 is interesting because they're different, but I'm not overly attached to those so feel free to throw something else at me.
In terms of restrictions, I think the usual convention of no pre-planned artillery in or near the deployment zones (everywhere else is fine, as some factions rely on pre-planning artillery, so I'd rather not ban it entirely) and if it's a meeting engagement then not having TRPs makes sense.
I'd definitely go for some theme to the game - so to go back to the Marines example, the theme of 'Marine HQ unit attacked by insurgents' where the Marines can only pick their HQ unit(s) and are defenders in an assault mission against UnCons, or with CW where... hmm, not as many ideas beyond 'Red steamroller hits an interesting Blue formation in interesting terrain'. I guess the idea is a little bit of thematic guidance to both players so they're not going in totally blind (as you would usually have some idea if it's an armoured formation or an infantry force heading your way)... scenario-lite, if you will, as I do find unit selection fun and scenarios don't have that.
Anyway, ramblings over. I'm fairly new (only two battles vs other players), and while I've watched a few videos and played a fair few vs AI battles over the past year and a bit I've been into Combat Mission, I won't be a match for someone with a lot of experience, but I don't object to getting battered by a superior player. I do plan to make an AAR from it, as I did with this match.
