Looking to take the plunge

Hi everyone so ive been practising a fair bit and i think im ready to take the plunge and play an online game, so first things first any takers, however I would like to stress that this will be more of a learning experience for me because I still dont totally understand how playing by email/wego works so i would need some assistance with that. I have installed CM Helper and drop box, its more to do with the technical aspects and how u swap the files etc to gt the battle going. So any takers please reply I await my ass kicking with trepidation and excitement.
 
Sure we can set up a little practice game (off ladder) if you like. Benefits being Im in the same time zone/country. Of course I have an awful record and if you want to use it for the ladder we can do... hell you get points for losing. :)
 
Yep off ladder would be fine for me, if its ok Bootie i would like for you to choose the map/scenario and initialise the game as im not 100% confident on how to do all that.
 
Hey Bootie any thoughts on map/scenario for my practise/intro to online play?
 
Roger that, I take it when I fire up CMRT and my cm helper it will show up their as incoming mail or turn? See still a bit confused how this works, I'll check it tomorrow and get back to you if I have any dramas :)

Yeah can do let me just get this one started with Bootie, then ill know exactly what im doing in regards to getting a game started over internet. Once we are up and running i'll drop you a line here.

Hey Bootie i think we have a wee breakdown in comms here. I dont have CMBN, only CMRT or CMBS and as far as i can see Its a new dawn is for battlefield Normandy. Let me know if i have cocked this up and if there is a crossover map to red thunder. Cheers.

Dont think ive done a mp game quite as complicated as this in a while, quick question whats the password i need to put in to start my turn?
 
ok look forward to it. Also to answer your question you put any PW in you want as you will have to entre it every time you take a turn.

But Bootie sent me the first file or does it not matter.

Ok so i went to saved games and clicked on the game that Bootie sent me then entered a password, it then said it was saving turn 2 then just took me back to the main menu, so how do i get it to load Booties turn so i can then play mine. ?????
Sorry if im being thick and its staring me in the face.

that was your turn done if you look on CM helper it should say under status waiting
 
first few turns are always slow. so the next file you get from him will be your set up phase. each turn you get from now on you will have to entre that PW
 
Ah ok so i take it that was me accepting the scenario battle basically, now he will setup them i will. Ok i think ive got it, just taking a bit to get my head round. Once i get the next turn from Bootie and we get going then i will be sorted and we can start our battle as well if thats ok. Just want to get my head round this first, once ive gone through the motions once I should be fine. and cheers for the info much appreciated.
