Hilarious but maddening. I nearly posted this one too. It grinds my gears how people are treated when they want to appreciate what all taxpayers have been subsidising for ever.
Like the man says, they're doing a fine job of showing how much they care about their public. I know the money made goes to the Crown Estate and the value of the estate is used to calculate the astronomical subsidy that the royal family are given each year.
I do sometimes think that London is just set up to rinse visitors of all their money. It starts with the Heathrow or Gatwick airport express trains that cost twice as much as a parallel service that gets you into London just as quickly and continues with the day travel card that works out more expensive than just paying for individual journeys.
I'll stick to the British Museum and National Galllery, all free and with toilets!
