In the greater interest of the state, I do respectfully question the outlay of men and materiel to recover the gold being stolen by the capitalists. Although I am obviously not permitted to know the value of such quantities of precious metals and have not been trained in the mathematics required, there is also value to lost armored vehicles, RPGs, AK-47s, and the cost of training replacement comrade soldiers.
Please do not take this as a refusal to follow orders. My men and I will continue to give 100.... no, 150%...to achieve victory and recover the gold.

Any excuse for a new, interesting tactical situation is a good one. It's not as crazy as, say, "Caught in an electromagnetic storm over Germany, an M1 platoon is transported to a 1976 alternate reality where WW3 has started." <that's pretty much Combat Mission: The Final Countdown >

It's good to kick around a lighter force. The scenario seems finely balanced (so far) and I think has some decent replay value if one wanted to test out different choices - very similar to the first scenario.

Speaking of which, when the tournament is finished will the scenarios be made available? I definitely want to play some of these again at some point.
