Any of you guys getting this?
++++
Installed MG and getting some real problems with the unit portraits.

Fallschirmjäger are the worse offenders with no portraits at all...

Checked one of the other new MG missions and every German SS portrait is coming up as a tank commander.

Initially I thought it was some mod conflict, uninstalled my z folder and after that didn't work did a complete fresh reinstall and the problem persists.

Any thoughts?

Hi Ithikial, there was a thread on the BFC Forum about this. It was reported...it is a bug. I think there was a work-around, but I have toi find the thread. It was within the last week or so.

Found it!

The solution is in post #3. You need to take the portraits out of their default folder and put them in your z folder. They are found in nations/portraits of the exploded base game/base module brz files (Normandy v110, Normandy v210, etc.). You'd have to get the Fallschirmjaeger portraits from CMGL, I guess.

How could BF not have seen this before release?

I can't believe they didn't know about it, perhaps the need for a quick injection of cash superseded their quality control ethics.

I agree that they should slow down and step up their QC control. I would honestly not mind waiting a longer length of time in between modules or games (whatever they are calling them now). Hell I still have a lot of scenarios from CMSF that I have not played yet. If mostly volunteers are making up the maps, scenarios, and campaigns what is BF actually working on? After how many games I cannot see it being that hard for their modeling guy to whip up some WW2 units? Unless he is not on the payroll either and has to dedicate his own time for free. I then understand.

I've never done testing for software before nor do I know how they divvy up Beta testing responsibilities, but I know at work when it comes to database cleanup and testing everyone gets one small section as there's and that's all you do. You become so knowledgeable of your one little bit that you can recite results off the top of your head. Unsure how they do it behind the scenes but I hope it's some form of organised chaos where one beta tester has responsibility for one of the major formations/armies and that's what they work on rather than bits here and bits there.

Battlefront still have a long way before they reach the depths of say Obsidian and Bethesda when it comes to QA. Hell some bugs from those guys stay in their games as accidental features.

Not rushed to receive another game just yet... still catching up on CM:BN CW, it takes me months to make a map!

Looking at some of the new maps... they do look a little rushed. (Square,... but I do like to get the new features!)
