In 1950s Algeria, as war against the French colonists threatens, a schoolteacher (Viggo Mortensen) agrees to deliver an admitted murderer (Reda Kateb) to a French court for trial.
It's slow but not a slog , just not fast and an action movie at all.
Great roles for both main characters. A very thoughtful film.
I loved it. The landscape, the humanity in a harsh place. They really stretch out an Albert Camus short story but it has enough substance, although the actors shine through more than the screenplay.
