Need a opponent

Greetings gentlemen,

I need a opponent to test if 2.0 works.

small QB battle
30min
I play Waffen SS

Could use another opponent or 2...

Medium/Large battle
SS vs ???
45min/60min battle?

We could also play the new huge map that Wyntergreen made? Then we can play a huge battle 2h?

If you don`t mind I already played (or better playing) on this map I really would like to play a 2h huge match. Maybe, as I know the map a bit, it is a compensation I just played once with Allied troops and don`t know them very well. At least not as a commander in a QB. So if you want drop me a line and we can discuss "details"....

Sure let's rock!

I would propose the following settings:

Huge battle
Map as we dicussed
2h game
Meeting engagement
Daytime
Elite setting
I play Waffen SS vs ??? (your selection)

Is this ok?
I'll be offline this evening (GMT+1 the Netherlands) cause I'm of to a football match (PSV vs AC Milan)
(I'll setup the game tomorrow evening once I'm home from work)

Sounds fine. I will have a look at the different OOBs for the Allies and decide until tomorrow. I would like to play with the "Wynntergreen Rules". If you don`t know them, they encourage a quite well balanced battle setup.

Here they are. Let me know what you think of these rules.

*33% Max Armour
A maximum of one third of points can be allocated to Armour units.
Any vehicle that can only be purchased from the Armour Single Vehicle section is considered armour for calculating the 33% maximum.
Vehicles that can be purchased from the Mechanized Infantry section, halftracks etc, do not count to the 33% Armour total.

*One/Four BigCat
AXIS, only every fourth Armour piece can be a BigCat.
You need to purchase three Armour assets before purchasing your first BigCat (KingTiger, Tigers, Panthers, Jadgpanther, Jagdpanzer), then three more before purchasing your second, etc.

*Allies Armour purchase is unrestricted, except by rarity.

*Rarity Standard

*Organic Artillery +1
Meaning all the normal Organic Artillery rules apply except that you're allowed to purchase 1 non Organic Artillery Asset.
The non-organic artillery asset purchased must be 150mm or less.

*No TRPs
Setup turn Registered Artillery is ok, but no firing for effect on turn one (except smoke) and no registered artillery on setup zones.

And of course good luck for your team. I keep my fingers crossed. I would like to see PSV playing in the Champions League. Maybe even against "my" team Bayern Munich...

Yes I know his rules but I'm not a big fan of them.
I don't mind using his rules. I'm love to play with infantry so... ;)

I hardly use big cats. At most 1 platoon that I use as a doorknocker or to support the frontline where they are most needed.
The rest of my armor is mostly PzIV, StuG/StuH and armord cars (SdKfz234/1, SdKfz234/2 (Puma), and the halftrack versions)

I never really understand this rule? Organic are the mortars in a battalion or what?

I never use them

PS: It was a great match!!!

As I understand the rules they simply make sure the game is somewhat balanced and therefore fun for both sides. Balanced as there is a good amount of tanks and lots of infantry. Especially between players who never played against each other. So no big surprises or better unsatisfactory results one side taking just a few infantry and bombing the crap out of the opponent with nothing else than king tigers, rocket artillery and a battalion worth of mortars. This would not only be totally ahistorical but also not entertaining at the receiving end. But it looks like you are also looking for a good game and not just winning by all means :). Organic artillery is basically just the artillery already in the original OOB of e.g. an infantry battalion...
So let's do this with roughly a maximum of 33% tanks and the big cat rule (by that in a huge ME this would give you a maximum of 2-3 big cats and about 8-9 tanks total estimated. And as you like (me too by the way) lots of infantry to play with. And of course as much AFVs as you want :). Artillery and mortars as you like but please in a way that is reasonable ;-). I hate playing against a "mortar battalion"....

Don't worry freund. I always play to have fun and I hate cheesy games ;) I always try to play with historical units.

See ya on the battlefield!
