Hi all,

today I am toying with mods and I have to say that I am a little lost for CMBN, tons of stuff!

Vehicles: it has been easy because I really like the Aris' mods
Sound: which one to install? Do you use the dedicated nationality voices?
Scenery: Tanks A Lot's buildings are nice, what other addtions do you think are good?
Infantry: do you have installed all dedicated uniforms? (Luftwaffe, paratroppers, etc)
Other: Juju's UI if fantastic, what else to install?

Thanks in advance

I think its very much a suck and see with mods as its very much personal opinion. I do know there was recently a download shared that consolidated a lot of mods into one download... you might use these as a jump of point.

I can help you with sound. Get the HQS sound mod. A whopper of a mod. It changes basically all sounds in the game, and that includes voices.
It really blew my ears out. The intensity of combat really goes up a notch or two with this mod.

Here is the link for soundmod.

I have innumerable mods installed in CMBN that I have sorted through over the years and also further modified and a few existing ones as well as created a few small ones of my own.
In my Data/Z I have the following mod folders:
Effects Aris
Guns Aris & Saturnin
Hit Decals Scipio
Mines & TRPs (by me)
Sound
Terrain (by Aris and others; includes new building skins for France and Holland by me as well as numerous mod-tagged mods)
Uniforms (by various, for all combatants)
Uniforms Mod-Tagged (for most Commonwealth and German regiments)
Unit Bases Juju
Vehicles by Aris and Umlaut
Vehicles mod-tagged (These are patched for specific regiments such as 12SS)
Weapons weathered
GUI Juju (includes additional modifications made by me such as including unit patches in Juju's portraits)
No Lens Flare
plus a number of scenario specific mod tagged mods

I also keep other mods in a separate folder to move back and forth using JSGME. These are all properly foldered to work smoothly with JSGME.
A few examples follow:
Hit Decals Forensic
War Movie Advanced Lighting
C&C CW
C&C Ge
C&C US
Icons Floating Shared CW
Portraits Mod-further modified by me and mod-tagged
Foliage June - selections from Falaise seasonal terrain
Foliage July - as above
Foliage Aug-Sep - as above
Trees Translucent
.... and many more ...

And what else ...? I have also added mod-tags to EVERY CMBN scenario so that the mods that I have mod-tagged are called automatically.

So ... if you, or anyone else for that matter, want to sample my collection, we can set up a shared Drop-Box and I'l move the files in your direction. If you want to see what my collection looks like in action then look at some of my screen grabes posted at various locations on this site.

Cheers, and happy collecting and gaming.

I'll blow my own horn here and recommend the mod in my signature. :)
I found the default background sounds to be too intrusive and toned them down, also made another one with my own background sounds and much prefer that to stock.

Hey Stafford: What is the name of your background sound mod? Would like to try it. I've been using "No background sounds".

I'd really like to see some screenshots, or links to them.
Search on my screen name "Kandu" at this site and the look for the posts under that name. Screen shots of my mods collection installed can be viewed at a number of locations on this site. The first would be the Scenario Depot. There are screen shots of the scenarios I've uploaded. There are also screenshots of the Dutch houses I reskinned, the Bloody Buron Overhaul Scenario and a few shots of the Amfreville la Fiere master map in the section "Combat Mission Scenario Design". If you want to see any more just say what you want and I'll get it done.

Many thanks @Kandu for your post.

I would like to take a look at your collection. I have Dropbox and you can find my email on About in my profile :)
