Sigh..... its always the US vs Russia. They should do the Balkans or Mali or anything other than the US vs Russia.

Unlikely. Battlefront has said that their engine is not suited to jungle warfare. But I agree Korea now or in the 50s would be fun.
I hear ya. Dead horse being beaten and all that. I don't think there's much left of that poor horse anymore. I was hoping for something involving the PLA. Near future scenario of a modernized PLA vs. a hollowed out US military due to budget cuts and aging equipment would be interesting.

CMSF just stands for modern warfare. BF is now releasing a modern warfare CM game with the 2.0 engine because many CMSF fans are already waiting for it.
In my opinion it is OK to start with the "main protagonists" USA and Russia and then other settings will follow (I hope).
In CMSFx1 many gamers were complaining about the imbalance between US units and Syrian troops (which was not justified due to different victory conditions) but now
as BF makes a "balanced" setting, people are still not satisfied.
USA vs Russia is only the "opener" and then other modern conflict scenarios will follow, I guess.

Maybe they could do an expansion revolving around the French Foreign Legion. It would be a different twist using French equipment.

I am pretty sure that CMSFx2 will have a few modules for other countries. Battlefront isn't adverse to making money I would imagine.
