Hi there, This is my first membership to any wargame/history club and thanks to Combat Mission I'm here. I used to play the classic CM series and loved the dynamics of it. But I was personally didn't like the ToW series. Not my cup of tea. I think the new Combat mission games are one giant leap in the right direction. Looking forward to interacting and sharing with you. I have some military experience. Anybody out there served with the 2nd ID in S Korea in the 80's?

I live near Glasgow, Scotland but grew up just north of NYC. I just noticed there is a location tab in your details. I'll look into updating mine.

Thanks, I've been to Arnheim for a day and checked out Osterbeek but got lost in the city maze at night so I couldn't find the bridge. I'd like to make a good battle map of that one.

You are always welcome back and I'll help you find the bridge ;)

Also a hearty welcome from me, El Guappo! :) Joining the FGM was a very good decision as you will find a lot of great people here - and playing against human opponents is much more challenging and fun instead of fighting the AI. Maybe we will meet some day in a campaign or a tournament and then you may check out the difficulty level "Shorker" *gg! ;)

I 've been in Arnhem too in 2009 during the 65th anniversary of "Market Garden" - I would like to recommend the "Hartenstein Airborne Museum" to everybody - it's absolutely great and very interesting!
I would even say it's a "must see"! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airborne_Museum_'Hartenstein' You are not only looking at WWII exhibits but you are also going through a parcours (course) called
"Airborne Experience" - this is very extraordinary and exciting!

Yes Shorker, that's the museum I went to. I am setting the computer ai to higher levels for more of a challenge but looking forward to human opponents. I must admit I would not want ot bore some veteran CM player who's looking for a challenging opponent but I do think I have good skills at this game. I played Avalon hill's squad leader some 25 years ago and you could say I learned WW2 games at squad leader level from the ground up. I think sitting down at a board game with an opponent is a bit more fun than playing on the internet but alas, I don' know anybody who plays the old school stuff. I did play some online air combat a year or so ago on IL2 sturmovik, which is mostly eye and hand co-ordination (and depends on your joystick) but the opponets are brutal (wolves) and barrel roll over the newbies so they just scare away any potential up and coming aces. But if you do get lucky and I mean lucky unough to shoot any one of them down they immediately disconnect. It would be nice if they had a flight room for newbies only but I the bullies just keep coming in and tear the place apart. But anyway, I look forward to hopefully having an online CM match someday.

El Guappo: I just made a little joke (as you know for sure) and allthough it sounds like if I were bragging, I didn't say that difficulty level "Shorker" is above "Elite"... didn't I? Could be the opposite as well! ;) *gg!
Just have a look at the Cmx2 ladder - my "performance" is awful yet...

In no way I would assume that a new player would be "boring" me - 1. I'm not that good and 2. not vain. ;) It's the fun with the game that counts and I like meeting new people but at the moment I have no "slots" free for a new game. Currently I'm playing against Womble, Owen is waiting for a re-match, I'm taking part in the Double Elimination Tournament and I have three battles running in the "Domination Normandy Campaign" - plus the "Shock Force" Campaign is about to start every day.

I recommend you to join a campaign and just "get involved". ;)

Sounds good, campaign game it is. Just getting used to ternet gaming. I think Bastonge would be a good next module.

Hi there,

I've been away for a while but am back at the PC. Just playing one of my first downloads from TFGM. Its called Rockville and I'm really impressed with the diversity and realism.
