New Project in the Hopper

Being that I served in The Rangers, I feel almost obligated to model some of their rich history. I bought this new kit specifically to use in a Pointe du Hoc diorama. The kit was fairly expensive, but the detail looks exquisite. I already had some "Rangers in Normandy" that I will use along with this to make the diorama.

awesome kit at 1/35...I see all kinds of weathering possibilites

Looking forward to this one, that looks a great kit. Looks like it could be a big dio.

Yes, I think in order for it to be realistic it is going to have to be quite large. I have to admit that modelling a realistic sized cliff seems a bit daunting.

You actually gonna build a cliff... that will be one bulky dio. Why not just do the cliff base/beach and a few inches of the cliff.

Building in 1/35, I think I'm going to have to do just that. The cliffs at Pointe du Hoc were about 80 feet high so that means in my dio they would be over 2 feet high. Not only a challenge to build but storing and displaying something that big presents a whole other set of problems.

I've seen this before, I think it's even been posted here. Truly impressive work. I am surely not going to make my dio that extensive.
