Hi Everyone,

New to the site. Was recommended to me by someone I play h2h Combat Mission with. I have 11 games going on at the moment. Have all the modules-Normandy/Italy/Gustav Line and Market Garden. I'm still a beginner, but having a lot of fun.

The only other game I've played h2h is Gary Grigsbys War in the Pacific. I played 2 complete campaign games that took about a year of furious daily and weekend play.

Looking to get World in Flames when it finally comes out. I have some HPS games and Gary Grigsby War in the East, but really haven't got into it.

Right now Combat Mission is my game of choice.

Welcome... World in Flames is released. Bit pricey and no AI.

Thanks...I just took a look $99. I knew there was no AI, but it also appears its not 100% complete-this is aside form the lack of an AI.

Seems like you can play it solitaire which I'll have to see what exactly that entails as It seems a bit weird to play against yourself with no AI.

I may just wait to see if it ever goes on sale which I doubt, knowing Matrix. I may still get it-will be the second most expensive game I've bought-Steel Beast cost me $125.

Welcome Scott, I was just remembering when wargaming was a cheap pastime - it was all lichen and miniature figures, plastic for the poor and metal for the socially mobile - crikey I sound like a revisionist evangelist.

New boy myself - but you will find plenty opponents here - enjoy.

Hi, Im Facman

Thanks for the info. I'll get to it when I'm ready for some games. I'm pretty new to H2H Combat Mission and started out with just a couple of games at a time and now I'm up to 14 games going at once. I think I've found my limit. I tend to get 1-2 turns out a day after work and up to 4-8 turns on the weekend if I'm not busy, but at this many games its getting difficult to keep up.

I'm about to finish a couple of games so I can free up some bandwidth.

Some players like to take hours if not days to ponder a turn. I generally don't spend a whole lot of time pondering a move. Not quite like real time play, but more like chess with a timer. Sometimes on the weekend when I'm not doing anything I have games where we just shoot turns back and forth.

I've been playing CM since 1999, but only started H2H a few months ago and I'm hooked. I showed a friend who would love to get in on the action, but can't afford it and a co-worker who has a bigger problem-a wife!

Aye, tis an awesome tool that GreenasJade has gifted the community with.
I understand how CM can eat up your time, so don't worry about being a bit picky in jumping in right away. We are a club that has been around for 10 years, and with the enthusiastic members we have, we're not going anywhere soon. Your Mate with the lack of $ to purchase the game can always save up to get aboard, your Mate with the wife problem is another story. I think my wife likes CM because it keeps me out of her hair...
