Hey guys,

It's my first time playing a match. I prefer having an email game to let the game have more long time flavour. But also have time for a network game but only for this current week.

Looking forward to it!

That's quite a beard you have in your avatar pic. :) Sure, I'll play you a CMRT PBEM.

Given your German military background, I assume you would like to play the Axis?

I will take the Soviets. How about a medium quick battle to start off?

Hey there buddy!
Thanks for the beard compliment ;)
Yea I'd like to play axis - since it fits best with the learned onfield tactics I'm aware of ;) soviet squad sizes are way too large in my opinion :p
TBH I do not know the difference of the scenario and quick battle differences here? You mean a scenario by playing some battles to simulate a little "operation" ?
What do we play? Email then?
Please contact me through private message and or email further on - because I'll have some questions which might spam this thread ;)

so far

Ah ok Quick Battle is the stuff with the own point investment and scenario is pre defined units for a "scenario".
Well I'd love to pick my own units tbh :)

As do I! Nah, no one uses e-mail to send turns any more. We all use Dropbox. It will be necessary for you to go to Dropbox.com and install it. The free version is all you will need to just play CM games. Briefly, Dropbox is a "cloud" service. When you create a folder in Dropbox, you can choose to share it with another person. Any files in the folder can be seen and accessed by both you and everyone you share the folder with. So, let's say I create turn 001 and put it in our shared Dropbox folder. You then copy/past it into your CMRT "Incoming E-mail" folder, do your turn 002, then copy/paste it from your "Outgoing E-mail" folder into our Dropbox folder, etc., etc.

There is another free program called "CM Helper" that automates all that copy/pasting, keeps track of who's turn it is, etc., but it would probably be best if you just learn to use Dropbox manually for the first game.

I'll PM you later today.

Edit: I forgot to mention that the Dropbox folders are also saved on your local hard drive and can be accessed just like any folder or file. This means that you seldom need to actually go to the Dropbox.com web site to use Dropbox.

Hey @Meat Grinder , care should be taken in this one as our new member might have a wee bit of insight in his picks in a QB... too bad CMBS hasn't expanded in to Nato Units... then I believe we will all be in trouble....

@Falke88 - Howdy Sir, if you have any questions on CMH or DB (Which I doubt being an IT dude).... let me know... also I have a slot if you want to expand your horizons and fight multiple battles... (I find this keeps me in a nice dream state at night, figuring my troop movements for the next day).... I posted a Welcome, but it is good to see you active... Cheers...

Am downloading CM Helper atm. can you already setup a game with a middle map?
I'd like to play on the attacker side with the battle size axis "Company+" means that I'd like to have enough points for some special teams like forward observers and scout and also 150mm artillery if this fits your play?
Or just do it with the points contraint you think fits best - since its a PBEM game and round based I wouldn't have a problem with bataillon size either.
I just love playing on a company level.

Sounds like you want a Medium size quick battle then. I'll set it up and send you a Dropbox invite later today. I'll also PM you so we can discuss house rules etc., and you can ask any questions you might have.
