Good morning, afternoon, night everyone,

Newbie here - Zinzan's the name, (after the great All Black player Zinzan Brooke).

Started wargaming (25mm Ancients) in early 70's, expanding into WWII 1/300th and 15mm Napoleonics in the 90's. Discovered PC gaming in the 90's and played a LOT of Talonsoft games before drifting away from PC Wargaming for most of noughties, back into PC Board wargaming in last few years, now Combat Mission 2 is my main wargaming fix.

Based in Hampshire UK - Hope this is enough of an intro :)

Welcome, I also played 1/300th WWII and Napoleonic 15mm in the 90s. It was the good times when we really met people and spent a week end all together arguing about the rules... :)

ooops that should have been 80's, but you are right: I did enjoy the face to face aspect of tabletop wargaming (and RPG's in 80's/90's). OTOH PC wargaming came along just at the right time for me as having moved from London to darkest Lincolnshire there was a desperate lack of wargamers.

Hmmmm well I'm a Brit (English) who grew in in South Africa, played prop and somehow got nicknamed after a great All Black number 8?????

OTOH I AM looking forward to the PROPER World Cup this year.
 
no problemo; It's a complicated situation (the above leaves out about 3 more stages in my gaming/naming history all mostly boring)

Good to have you with us! :)

Joining this community was the right decision because Combat Mission is at it's best when played head to head (H2H). ;)

But in our download section you will also find a lot of new scenarios to play against the AI.

For to get involved into the PBEM H2H gaming action, please go to the gaming section and choose the category with
the game that you'd like to play (CMBS or CMBN etc.). There you'll find the postings for gaming requests.
And there you may also start your own, of course. ;)

I'm involved in 3 PBM's Over at the Blitz (monthly scenario games) amd finding H2H great fun; though I'm learning how deceptive players can be (in a good tactical way of course). :)

Will be keeping an eye on tournaments here (I prefer scenarios to QB's atm); but as I only have CMBN (with all add-on's/patches and a few (about 10) MODS I'm restricted in choice. This is good whilst i don't have major time pressures I do have a family that I would like to keep.
