Newbie returns to CM - looking for help

Hi I am returning to CM - you may remember me from CMx1 as elltee - anyway need some help with dropbox and h2hh so if anyone wants a game of CMBN or CMFI + all modules for them - and you can help me with the PBEM side please get in touch
 
Hi there - I'm good for an introductory game, and use CMH (the follow on to H2HH, compatible with it) and dropbox, so can take you through those.

If you still want a game, we can kick something off ...
 
Hi thanks for the offer - i prefer small to medium games either QB or scenarios so maybe we ca get something started up tomorrow
 
Yep, that's fine. I seem to have played a lot of CMBN recently (as well as the new CMRT!), and so just for a change would prefer CMFI ...

I can give you links to get CMH (I suggest this, as "the future", rather than H2HH) and to GaJ's documentation which explains how it works, if you need them.

Otherwise just let me know how you want to proceed; I can set up a game and send it to you if you wish.

Also, we can start a personal conversation on the board (and / or "chat" in CMH), to save using the public forum posts for our individual game discussions ...
 
Well in H2HH you right click on the line for your particular game and one of the options is chat and it opens up a window and you can see what your opponent has said and you can put a reply
 
I can see h2h chat files in the drop box but nothing appears when I do the above.

Do you mean that you don't even get a chat window opening?

CMH (and H2HH before it) can only "chat" with someone who is also using one or the other of the two: so if your gaming partner doesn't have one of them, the chat won't work. But, the dropbox will still show your chat file, as CMH/H2HH creates a chat file as part of setting up each game, as part of the process of establishing comms with the other player. But if the other player doesn't have them, the chat file is inoperative and will just sit there ...
 
I get the chat window just no words, im guessing the chat file is empty. I assumed because it was there it meant there was chat.
