Saw this on Reddit today. Seems R. Lee Ermey and the U.S. Marine Corps had a unique perspective on the Black Lives Matter movement, decades before it even existed.

R.Lee Ermey was a military consultant on the movie crew. He was helping a rehearsal one day and someone saw/heard him ranting and raving as he was want to do. They decided he was better for the D.I. roll than the actor they'd hired and gave R. Lee the job instead. True story.
