Nothing so melancholy as a battle lost...

Evening all,

I've just finished my first MP game which was against Wildcard. It was a meeting engagement of German (me) vs American (WC). The battle was hard fought on both sides with an ebb and flow of advantage and disadvantage, locations being threatened, defended, lost and gained. Iron Crosses to my panzershrek team for killing multiple Allied armoured vehicles and Silver Stars to Wildcard's bazooka team who popped up from behind a wall literally a few metres from my advancing Panzer IV to kill it. The desperation of the fighting led to schoolboy errors on both sides! I think we both fought to win but without wasting our pixeltruppen.

It was a great fight and certainly the best CM experience I've had; even my wife would ask to watch the turns and see what was happening! I may never play a single player scenario again.

Now, who's next?

Hi Cohort, sounds like an amazing battle!
I just played my second PBEM game, using the new CMx2 engine.
I played Nathangun in a small CMRT quick battle, and was bested in short order.
One lesson learned: watch out for the Russian SMG squads - they are diabolical!

Guys - playing these games against human opponents is all about the lessons learnt, I am quite new at this, but I am sure all the old hands would agree, you learn something from every game - the trick is to enjoy learning as you get pasted as well as when you are slaughtering!

Enjoy the games!

Cohort, if you want a game, I'll play you in a scenario. Normandy or Italy, haven't gone ostfront yet.

If you would like another opponent I'd be happy to do a scenario with you as well, Cohort. I have all modules and would only prefer to not play as commonwealth forces.
