PC Games for 2011, start saving now

Some good stuff there, i personally hope we'll see more lower-complexity games come out where you can just get on with having fun playing a simple fast-moving game without having to keep grappling with a thick rulebook like wading through glue.
Matrix's simple Panzer Corps looks promising.

There two I'm looking forward too.
Sword of the Stars II
and Shogun II, total war

Too many games that look interesting, to little time... Well, some might not even come out in the first place. And in case of doubt, reduce areas of interest. There's only one true gaming universe anyway! :biggrin1:

Wow thats a really good list. Frozen Synapse, that looks awesome!

Shogun 2
Red Orchestra 2 (Finally!)
Portal 2
Deus Ex 3 - If you haven't played the first you owe it to yourself to give it a try. One of my favorite PC game experiences.
Mechwarrior (Drool)

Anyone know anything about this or its precursor:

Steel Armor:Blaze of War
Mew(Mew?) tank sim from the makers of Steel Fury (which was one of the best tank games of all time)

I was aware of just a few of these. Thank you!

Mechwarrior

I'll not believe this to come out until it actually does. Too good to be true.

Well, 'Steel Fury' was a WW2 tank sim. Not too bad, but somehow feeling like there was missing something. Go try it, there's a demo around.

You know, you might be right in sparing yourself the disappointment about MW. A quick search turns up little in the way of concrete evidence.

I know. Sadly, I know... I so hope there'll be a new one, although the improved 'Mercenaries' from MekTek is absolutely cool, too. In case you need to pass the time.

I've downloaded the demos and tinkered with RTS's like Company of Heroes, Theatre of War and Men of War and, while I love the detail and destructible environments, The game mechanics are nearly unplayable because of the unmanageable scroll rate on my new computer. Combined with the poor documentation of game controls and my enthusiasm quickly evaporates.

I think all those games are better as console games, but I don't even know if they are compatible...?

One gets used to RTS. One should not take it too seriously, but rather as a guilty pleasure. There are a few RTS I like but those are just for personal enjoyment and not played competitively (my wife's a great RTS fan and pretty good at it and that's enough for me - she keeps on beating me in about every game we play together anyway).

I may be tempted with Battles of the Bulge, which has an RTS dimension.

I dont reallt like RTS either, its always just too fast for me and for my feelling, the games always end up "gamey" if you know what i mean.
Its got nothing to do with stratgy but knwo how to make the most tanks/troops and then do a russian human wave on the oppenent...
