Peter Solomon (54), who was jailed at the Nassau County Correctional Center near New York City, may sue county officials over a rodent bite to his penis, ruled a judge.
Solomon, a Vietnam veteran who claims he's been treated for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), says that his jailers knew that they were placing him in an area infested with rodents. He says that a rat or other rodent emerged from a hole in his mattress and bit him, drawing blood and forcing him to endure rabies shots.
However, BBC reports that officials dispute the extent of Solomon's injuries, claiming that they were merely psychological and that his wound didn't require stitches.
