A few months back my wife bought me this book from a car boot sale and it’s been in the cupboard in the caravan since then waiting for me to read it.
What a surprise to find it is actually signed by the author!!
This man now sadly deceased, was a fabulous author and narrator of several brilliant documentary series on British tv on WW1, WW2 as well as one about Wellington.
An authority on military history, he is much revered and respected to this day.
If you can get it on You Tube, watch his series called War Walks - brilliant.
