Question on Tournaments/Campaigns

I've been wanting to join a campaign/tournament style game. I enjoy individual matches but longer running games have always had a lot of appeal for me.

So, do I just need to be watchful on the forums? I missed out on one or two because I posted a little too late. It would be totally sweet if I could jump on the next one using CMBN. Like totally completely awesome. In fact, I'm pretty industrious. I could help out if need be.

Yeah, pretty much. The standard MO here is for a tourney to be announced. Then there is a feeding frenzy period when sign ups occur. Then there is a period of time when members, who did not look at the boards every few hours, complain that they wanted to play, but just weren't quick enough.

Then I propose a waiting list. Being the first to suggest it I will naturally be first

Well, 12 player roster for Risk:Europa took nearly 3 days to fill up ... so there was plenty of time.

Waiting list would then give the tourney/campaign manager the added job of chasing down players who might have added their name to suck a list several months back...

Most of the regular FGM'ers check into the forum at least once a day I guess.
