Question Time

Question for the Tech boys, My PC desktop isn't compatible for Windows 11, is there any thing that can be done short of getting
Somtimes you can upgrade a component or two and get you PC there. It really depends on how old it is and what the issues is. Upgrading a graphics card is pretty easy. Some fail the compatibility test just because of a BIOSs setting that can be changed.
This tells you how to get a list of things that are not compatible: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...ndows-11-14c25efc-ecb7-4ce6-a3dd-7e2e24476997 pardon me if you already know that.

how safe am I when Microsoft stops supporting Windows 10 this year against Virus attack I am protected with software ( Malwarebytes ) is this enough ? If I rely on my software?
Pretty safe especially if you are careful about what you download and install.

It's not safe to run an unpatched OS, antivirus or not.

You can use some registry editing to install Win11 on computers where it doesn't want to go voluntarily.

MS will also offer one more year of Win10 support for $30.

Thank You mate .... That's helpful

Good call Ted.
Thanks for bringing this up.

Cat, I used your link to run a PC Health Check and then clicked on "Check Now" under "Introducing Windows 11"

It looks like my machine currently doesn't meet the Win 11 requirements. Looks like my processor will not support it.
I just checked and I bought my machine in 2016 so I'm thinking there will be more to it than simply unplugging the old processor and plugging in a new one.

A couple of years ago I had to change my hard drive to a solid state drive but otherwise the machine runs everything I use well.
I believe I have until October until they no longer support Win10.

Redwolf thanks for that information on extending support for a year. I may just take them up on that.
