Road Trip!

Wife and I are heading off on a road trip tomorrow. Bored senseless of seeing the same ol' thing as we rarely travel
outside the county we live in (San Mateo) and the county my grandkids live (San Carlos). Since cruising is no longer
an option (been there, done that) and the wine country no longer has any appeal (can't really drink alcohol any more)
we ended up deciding a nice drive into No. CA had some appeal. Our destination will be the Oroville Dam that fell apart
3 yrs ago. Here's the link showing our destination: https://www.explorebuttecounty.com/activities/visiting-oroville-dam-the-full-experience
As for lodging we are staying at the Feather Falls Hotel/Casino. We have casinos in CA, but only the native Americans
(the Indian tribes) own/operate them. You should check this out: https://featherfallscasino.com/
When we lose power in the winter we usually head out to a local hotel and a suite can run $325-400/night. That's the same cost that our
Presidential suite will run us! This PrS, if it was in San Francisco I would bet it could cost $2000-$5000 per. Or more. Check the site for
photos. It's crazy!
This is just an FYI as may not be logging on to FGM for a couple of days so no reason to call 911. I'm just TDY Oroville. Back Thursday.
See ya' in a few.

@Hedgehog Yep, that's the one. It was only about a 3 1/4hr drive so
just about perfect as far as road trips go.
While I thought the drone footage of the spillway collapse was just awesome, one just
cannot appreciate how really huge that dam is (770' tall unless you see it up close and
personal. You can travel by car all along it's width at the top. Bring an oxygen mask!
We had a fun time and the gambling losses were tolerable.
Prime rib was excellent.
I got comped a drink so "Why yes bartender, I think I will have (one) an adult beverage.
Make it a Hendrick martini, up, very dry, three olives on the side, (if they put them in the
glass it takes up drink space) shaken not stirred."
(Bond, Ian Fleming had it wrong. If you shake the drink it generates ice chips. Ice chips
= martini dilution.)
Ahh, it's good to be back.
