Hi Bill,

I actually bought the pack when it first went on sale earlier in the year. I had always be interested in this concept of game of which there have been several iterations/re-releases by Panther Games. Many years ago I actually bought Highway to The Reich which was on sale at EB Games. I only played it a bit and remember then like I find myself now at times at odds trying to work out when to rely on the AI planning and when to micro. The game engine has since seen quite a few improvements since those days and thought I give them another crack.

The research in to the maps, units and TOEs is quite incredible. The theaters covered by the Commander Pack are also quite varied and provide a good window in to the lesser known theatres.

I really feel good about supporting a company like Panther Games because they are not a big operation, are serious about their game and they interact well on the forums. I think they have done themselves a huge favour by get on board with LnL Publishing which has so much class, taste and style in the way they present and market their lineup. It is so appealing. In fact, there are elements to the way their website looks that makes me wonder if Bootie took inspiration for the FGM website from them. They almost look like they were made by the same guy.

Any would be happy to perhaps try a multiplayer game with you if you have in fact bought the game yourself as it is not something I have ever tried with it.

Bought it just now! I am hoping to explore using it to be the Operational portion of a CM Op-Tac partnership....

especially for the new Bulge CM family.

I am too late for the bundle.
I found the game via a different forum and I understand that the commander's pack 1 had been 50 bucks instead of the now 100.
Too bad, as I really like the game so far. Have been playing with the free core game and its three scenarios.
100 bucks is a big bump to take though, so I am probably going for the bite sized approach and get one module at a time instead. More short-term money efficiency. Lol!
This game can also be played multiplayer as I understand it, but how would that work? Will it be real time or do you send turns?

I was really excited about this game. Got the free offer and tried it out.

But I was disappointed that it seemed that my units were unresponsive ; more often than not.

Many times when I was in control of an area some units will just get stuck and refuse to follow even a simple order. (example: clearing a small area very close by, even when well supported by adjacent units.)

Does anyone know of any good articles, videos, etc that explain this type of complaint and how to address it?

I think that is due to them taking rest and reordering. You can check what they are doing in their msg window or just looking at their icon and change the filter of what is shown.

It's not an RTS like most of us (including me) are used to. You cant just take the first town and immediately scoot to the next to take it after you already had a good few hours of fighting.

The men need some wine and celebration first, then some sleep. :)
