After not having a dog for 5 years, during which time we have had our niece living with us as she carved out a career as a nurse, and also her two house cats, we have recently helped her move to Southampton where she's now working in Southampton General Hospital.
So last week we started looking for a dog, and today we met our future four legged companion.

We have named her Lily, and she is a bonnie little Cockapoo. One of a litter of eleven, she was born on March 1st this year and is already sociable and calm - living with her siblings, two cats and children she is grounded in all aspects we would want in a puppy, and is microchipped, had her first jab, and therefore ready for a new home......ours!!!

We are going back to collect her next Sunday and are really looking forward to sharing our lives with her.

Lily’s 1st week report.
Car travel…. Good once she has settled down ( we bought a bigger car travel seat for her)
Socialising:
With people very good, with other dogs a work in progress.
Seeing her own reflection…. Barks but not too much.
Chewing…. A work in progress.
Jeanette…. Definitely a work in progress
Toilet trained and only goes outside … woke me up at 4.18 am so I took her into the garden for a wee

Overall she has settled amazingly well and already has fan club in the village and when we are out we get stopped quite a lot and we encourage everyone to engage with her which she loves.
Big test on Friday when we take her away for a week in the caravan
