I stumbled upon this game yesterday and since I am a big fan of anything ACW, I had to investigate it. Shortly thereafter I bought it. It reminds me of the 'Take Command' series game '2nd Manassas' and for good reason, it's developer was a participant in the development of 2nd Manassas, before starting his own company. I include a link for a review from 'The Armchair General' and will now go bury myself in my favorite era of military history. Anyone else out there play this one?

OK, I played my first scenario tonight. It was called 'End of the Line' and it was the fight on the 2nd day of the battle, for 'Little Round Top'. I was commanding Vincent's Brigade and was successful in keeping the Rebs from taking it. A real interesting event happened that really showed the depth these guys have gone with the game. After repulsing the first couple of attacks on my position, some Rebs that had retreated towards Big Round Top, ran into and chased some troops that were in the woods around Big Round Top. And as they retreated by my position, lo and behold, it was the US 2nd Sharp Shooters in their green uniforms! Huuuuuuuuuzaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! That got my historical juices flowing, as I had forgotten that historically, that was where they were positioned, and to see them pass by in accurate uniforms was a delight.

I have a few of those boys in my 15mm ACW collection, a portion of which is sitting in a display just to my left (right above a pic of 'The Princess')

I've been buying these since the first TC:Bull Run. They are great.

I highly recommend trying multiplayer. I got into a battle once with 5 other people and it was great fun. People tend to use TeamSpeak to communicate and are usually very patient helping you set up.

That sounds awesome. I can see how it would lend itself to help to fight larger battles, as I felt hard pressed to handle a brigade.
Were the 5 people all on the same side vs the AI or were there some opposing you?

I do have the TC Manassas version but never found anyone to play multi with.

It was 3vs3, no AI. They let me command just a brigade of infantry, my preference, whilst everyone else commanded a division.

If you haven't found it already here's the site that gives you help getting set up for MP.
