skill level

which is the common skill on ladder games ?
I used to play on veteran level, but I thought that iron is the more realistic one.

I wish to be in pair with other guys in the ladder, so highest level require more training and rethink tactics.

I never played PBEM games lower than Elite level. And I played quite a bunch already. So without better knowledge I would say Elite is the "standard" skill level. I personaly prefer Iron but most guys don`t like that. I never really understood why as the changes are minimal (just the visual clue as what friendly units know about other friendly units) and you automatically have a better understanding about C&C and stuff like that...

I prefer Elite as well, just don't like having one of my units clicked on and can't see all my other friendlies. As far as I know this is the only difference between Elite and Iron. But I sure don't mind Iron mode either, I never say anything if somebody starts up a battle in Iron, I just roll with it.

I play Elite also but im thinking to change to Iron mode for the reasons Strachwitz explained.You have better understanding about the chain of command,and you have all the picture in your screen,without going from unit to unit and search the green or the red dots to see who has C&C and who not
And if you click anywhere in the ground you can see all of your units

Iron. The new command lines are good to use for CC2. I really do not care if squads from different platoons can "see" each other. Makes no difference in the game. Ioannis3 also states a good point about nonsense clicking on each unit. Not needed in my opinion.
