Space Prison

Splattercat has a YT channel where he specializes in indie game reviews. I started out watching him just because he's a pretty
funny guy and I found/find his reviews entertaining if nothing else. Occasionally he'll come up with a game that gets my
attention. Such was this review for "Space Prison." It was a hard sell. This is waay outside my comfort zone. It being 2024 I expect
good graphics and side scrollers are so 1990's.
However, by the time this review ended I was charmed enough to look further. I eventually decided to give it a shot. I've spent
$20 on a lot worse things than this. Recently.
After a couple of hours I'm thinking this game is pretty unique. The art work is gorgeous and fits the "Space Prison" atmosphere.
Other than the combat sequences, which are usually short and (sometimes) deadly, this is not an action game. Every day the prisoner
must wander around the prison and find stuff that will make life just a little bit easier. Much of it can be crafted to make even better
stuff. Much of it is consumed immediately to maintain your health or processed for better health recovery. Searching and finding
stuff is the game's charm. It's always fun to find neat stuff!
For the most part...that's it. Find stuff and make your life better. It never gets boring.
And here is why I really like it. There apparently is no time limit. Just wander around and do whatever you want. You will get jobs that
you can do to get you even more better stuff. Up to you.
Anyway, here's what this "beer & pretzels" masterpiece looks like. It just released v1.0.
