Good book

Gents, if you are into the whole Stalingrad thing ( I know I am) then the book to get hold of is 'Island of Fire' by Jason D.Mark, covers the fighting in the Barrikady area from 11 Nov 42 to the surrender in Feb 43, damn fine book, exspensive £198:eek:on Amazon last time I looked, but worth every penny

War In the East

Hi Bootie,
you will not be disapointed my friend, it is a bloody awesome game, the scale and scope reminds me of SSI' old mega game which was called funnily enough, War in the East (hex board game, same unit scale) also it is very much like another old classic Drang nacht der osten DNO for short, again at the regiment/div scale. used to owm both but our family dog when I was a young man had the habit of snooping around and got into my room 1 day, the rest as they say is history, DNO & WitE trashed along with most of my then full advanced squad leader system, but I digress, War in the east is really good m8, you won't regret getting it. Can't wait till the new Combat Mission russian front version comes out, but I fear we may have a long wait.

all the best
