Good afternoon gents.
I am curious if anyone here plays Steel Beasts?

I found some very old threads so I thought it safe to ask in a new thread.

Was thinking about checking it out so wanted to get some thoughts.

I've only played Steel Beasts Gold, which is the forerunner to the current Steel Beasts Pro PE. From my experience with Gold, there isn't any other title that comes close to simulating armored combat in as much detail as SB does. Pro PE takes it even further, and everyone I know who owns it loves it and swears by it. The permanent license is pretty expensive at $180 for the base and two upgrades, though. However, esimgames started offering time limited licenses for a month, four months and a year. I'd recommend just getting a month long license for ten bucks and see how you like it. You're only out $10 if you don't, not $180. If you really like it after the month, then you can decided whether or not to drop the bones for the permanent license. If MP is your thing, there's an active community at SimHQ and on the official forums.

I am going to check it out for a month and see what I think.
Kind of looking for something sim related that might go well with Black Sea so this seemed to fit the bill maybe.
Pretty salty price though. Maybe pay for a year if I like it.

I play SB Pro PE regularly with others.
Be sure to jump on the official TeamSpeak server and hop into the Dogs of War channel.
Asid is the one that goes out of his way to get people involved in MP, no matter your experience, or .. Especially when you're new!

That is exactly what I did actually. Asid and DoW have been very helpful and gone out of their way.
Getting myself trained up in singleplayer right now and look forward to joining their online missions.

It's Yassy. We didnt do well! Lost all of our vehicles today Save for a platoon of M1's, but still managed to score a decisive victory! o_O

Ahh ok ya I remember you from the other night then.
Sorry to hear it didnt go well :) Things have a way of doing that in SB.
