Sultans & Rajas: FOG Medieval Mini Campaign

While I'm in FOG Ancients limbo -- @chiquichops , @Cargol and I are playing a quick, fun, simple mini campaign set in 14th Century India.

Something different -- and lots and lots of war elephants, cavalry and squishy foot units -- and dead simple rules and only 5 turns, so going to be very cut-throat.

There are FOUR factions:

The Delhi Sultanate in north-east India -- played by @Rico
The Bahmani Kingdom in north-west India -- played by @Cargol
The Vijaynagara Empire in southern India (probably the trickiest to play with) -- played by @chiquichops

+ the Timurid Mongol invaders raiding across the mountains from Afghanistan. (non-player faction controlled by DM dice rolls and players take turns in playing them in FOG Medieval battle)

RULES

Every player faction can perform ONE attack per turn. (if there is a available region to attack into)

The turn order for factions issuing orders is determined by the best % achieved in the previous Turn's battles, after the Timurid die roll.

FIRST TURN orders sequence is determined by random draw.

NO attacks on enemy Capital regions in TURN 1.

Only ONE battle per region.

A faction may not attack into a region already under attack.
A faction may not attack from a region already under attack.
A faction may attack into a region from which an attack into another region is being launched.
A faction may only attack from a region that is connected by land to their Capital Region (if the Capital Region is lost, then that rule falls away)

BATTLES
Battles are played in FOG Medieval.
Open Battle, Medium size -- either Pot Luck map or agreed by both sides.

Exception: The Battle for control of The Mountain Passes is always: Middle East Mountains

REGION BATTLE RESULTS:
To keep things simple: Any % level of victory will win the attacker the region or repel the attack.
If a battle ends in DRAW, the attacker is repulsed.

CAPITAL BATTLE RESULTS:
Each faction has a Capital Region (marked with 2 orange strength pips)
To capture a Capital Region outright, a attacker must score a Major Victory (+40%)
A Minor Victory (+60%) will remove one strength pip -- when the second strength pip is lost, then the attacker captures the Capital Region.

This bonus only applies to a Capital region if under control of its original faction -- if controlled by an enemy faction, it functions like a normal region.

TIMURIDS
Timurids are activated by 1,2,3 die roll on a die-6 -- this roll is always done first before any of the factions issue orders.

They first attack the Mountain Passes and once they control those, they then advance (direction determined by die roll)

Once activated, they remain active until defeated in battle.

Once inactive, they can be re-activated by 1-3 dice roll in the following turn.

Factions may attack any region controlled by the Timurids to try and recapture them.

MOUNTAIN PASSES
The faction that controls the PUNJAB region also has to defend the Mountain Passes.

VICTORY CONDITIONS
Winning scores are determined at the end of TURN 5.

A faction is awarded ONE point per region controlled outside their core home regions.
A faction is awarded TWO points per Capital region controlled outside their core home regions.
ONE point is deducted per home core region that is under enemy control.
TWO poinst are deducted if their Capital Region is under enemy control.

NO points are earned or lost for controlling the Mountain Passes.

If a faction no longer controls any regions at the end of a turn, that faction is eliminated.

The campaigning has started.

The Timurids did not activate in Turn 1, so the northern flank of the Delhi Sultanate is secure for now.

The Vjaynagara Empire in the south decides to attack into MAHARASHTRA.

The Bahmani Kingdoms attack into MALWA.

The Sultanate of Delhi advances south into ANDHRA.

The battle for ANDHRA at start... Emperor @chiquichops troops line up with lots of archers, war elephants and light cannon -- it's northern Islamic Indian armies against southern Hindu armies.
We have a tricky battlefield dissected by a deep stream seriously affecting operations.

7 Turns in and the centres and my right are heavily engaged.
My cavalry manages to flank and cross the stream and are ready to charge into the enemy right, with war elephants moving up in support.
The situation on my right flank is a bit more tricky (forgot to take a screen shot) with my forces barely holding out and my guns in danger of being overrun.

I just realised I'm defending! Not sure why I felt the need to advance over the river. I hope this pans out well!

Well, it did work out ok for @chiquichops -- a defeat for the Delhi Sultanate armies in ANDHRA.

Turned out too little room for my cavalry to be effective on my left, my centre was hamstrung by every unit adjacent to a routing elephant unit disrupting/fragmenting and my idiot decision to get sucked into a fight for the large patch of rough ground on my right.

That said, it is a lot of fun to play with these arms.

BATTLE 1: MAHARATRASHA

BATTLE 2: MALWA

BATTLE 3: ANDHRA -- Delhi Sultanate Defeat

It was a really cool battle, both sides got stuck in and there were some brave attacks over that deep stream by both sides. A glorious , hard fought victory!
