Good Day all wondering if anyone at all uses teamspeak to socialize within the FGM while playing CM titles or other games regulary?
 
Thats a shame its good for socializing as you can get multiply ppl on one channel chatting and if need be make up there own rooms to go in
 
if you don't want multiple ppl on ts you just move to a different room and ppl can come and go when they want and not need someone to host it. you can also do much more with ts then skype.
 
I used to use teamspeak when playing Counter Strike (I think) and EVE, but given that we play CM at a lesser intensity, it doesn't seem necessary tho I do miss the man voice and character and intonation you get from direct communication...
 
I'd support a FGM Teamspeak server for us to congregate on. I know the Arma group would put it to good use. For those who only play CM, I suppose they could use it when playing TCP/IP Wego or RT games. That would be cool.

It could also serve as a means to talk to your mates here on FGM in real time and not thru chats. I mean what's not to like about listening to Shane's brogue accent?
 
The ARMA group tried that a while ago but it fell over pretty quickly. Now with DoubleD at the helm of the ARMA effort it could be a possibility but we have to remember the $$$$ cost and would want to see it used on a regular basis among members. Though it's probably up to Bootie for the final call as the 'big boss,' for my mind if multiple FGM gaming groups (like the World in Tanks crew) were to use the same server then there could be cause to look at it again. Having only one part of the FGM community using the service wouldn't be financially prudent in my opinion.

As for difficulty of use, I think it's quite easy once it's set up. The biggest surprise for me when switching to it was how much clearer the voices were over teamspeak rather than using the in game option. (<-- ARMA3 example).
 
I had it set up a few years back, but there seemed no interest in testing it's potential. So it died out. I'll pick up the ball again if there is an interest.
 
After checking in with Bootie, a couple of us gents from the ARMA group have opened up a 15 slot TeamSpeak server.

I've setup a couple of diffrent channels for the community to use as you feel fit. It's about $5 bucks a month to rent, anyone wants to contribute please feel free to donate some money to the community, bottom right on the FGM webpage.
