The Crucible of War Vol I-III
ISBN 0-304-35950-5
A most enjoyable read, it shines light on the on some of the darker corners of the desert war and has plenty of accounts from soldiers who fought in the battles.
He has had access to many personal unplublished documents from General R. O'Connor about "Operation Compass" and other staff officers.
Pitt not only tells the reader about the Desert War, he brings it to life.
My score: 9/10
EDIT:
I have finish the entire three volumes, well worth reading. I recommend these books to very one. You'll be washing the sand out of your hair for weeks afterwards.
Enjoy!
