It's been a touch of three months since the new FGM ladder went into operation and we are starting to get some decent number of games coming through. The ladder itself has already been visible from day 1 but this new ladder does a hell of a lot more than just that. :)

It's sort of 'Big Brother' kind of ladder, watching your every move and building up a profile of FGM members and their playing habits. I wanted more data but Bootie said no so you wouldn't have to fill out a longer form when logging a game. :p

The announcement....
We are now ready to accept Modern Era title battle results right. Combat Mission Shock Force, Afghanistan and even Black Sea when it's released. Get those games logged. We'll be able to have a separate ladder for WW2 games and the Modern Era once we get some results.

The FGM Wargamer Profile
Firstly let's take a look at what we are playing. Not sure why our game numbers dropped off sharply in September...

And in game, we really love July 1944 for some reason. This graph will get more interesting once Battlefront release upcoming modules, the Bulge title and (hopefully!) delve back into the mid war years. Long term we could have a ladder for Early War, Mid War and Late War. You maybe brilliant when you can field Panthers but this system will tell us if you're rubbish when commanding forces in Poland '39. :D

So where are our ladder leaders scoring their points? Turns out @Richtig Normandy hedgerows, @Strachwitz the steppes of Ukraine and @Hedgehog the hills of Italy. (Or the Vino).

And now for the real fun bit.

Country of Origin!
Time to find out once and for all (and updated every month) just where do the best Combat Mission players actually come from?

The initial results? The UK followed by Germany and then the USA. The USA... guys what's going on, you've played more games than the Germans but are well behind.

Note: If the Scots had voted for independence this chart may have changed slightly at the top end of the leader board. ;)

But it's really not fair is it? I mean there are so many Brits and Yanks on this forum that they can physically play so may different games and just swamp out the competition. So let's average those results by the number of players by country.

(Again USA! Guys what the?)

But then you can get some odd things going on with a small number of players still dominating their country's score and making everyone else look good by default. It's still not really the only way to look at it.

Mmmm. Points by games played ought to sort that out.

And the USA takes the lead in those stakes. So they're efficient but it's coming off only a handful of wins from few players. Meanwhile us Aussies are going absolutely brilliantly given our few games and player numbers. :)

So please, just keep submitting more games and help build the FGM Wargaming Profile. Long term we could challenge the other clubs and do a bit of a comparison. The more games you play the more you help even with a loss.

More later.
Cheers guys.

Holly crap that's alot of work you've done there mate! :D

Excellent job, and interpretation of the stats. I'll have to start playing some ladder games!

Or, on second thoughts about improving the Brit average ... perhaps the fewer games I play the better ...

Wow! Thanks for these stats! You really make the best of numbers Ithikial!

Nice work Ithikial - a one that I wonder about would be victories by side - or sides chosen - I think just like the blitz seem to aspire to, it would be good to build up stats that show scenarios that offer a chance for both sides - sometimes I feel that isn't immediately obvious - so again presumably eventually you will have that info...

Great work - thank you for sharing it with us all.
