I got this book called, Das letzte jahr der waffen-ss.
I can´t make much sense of it since my german is pretty gebrokken :) ahem.
Anyways, it has this interesting chart for all the waffen-ss units in April 1945. The chart shows what various tank types and canons were available for each unit. It shows for example that the LAH only had one Jacdpanzer IV, and it seemed to be "summe einsatzbereiter Fahrzeuge" whatever that means.
The book could be useful for someone wanting to create a April 45 scenario.

It´s got great photos in it to along with various other charts, and some battle AAR reports.
Nice book.

"Summe einsatzbereiter Fahrzeuge" means how many of the mentioned vehicles (possibly also tanks) are combat ready.

Greetings :)
I see. So does that mean that they only had one of them ready at that time?
The chart has 3 numbers listed as the following.

The example was - / 1 / -
It could have been 1/1/1 just for an example.
The numbers signified the following chronologically.

Summe vorhandener Fahrzeuge
Summe einsatzbereiter Fahrzeuge
In Instandansetzung befindliche Fahrzeuge.

Thanks for the translation. I can understand bits and parts of it because I speak danish and also because of all those war-movies I´ve seen, fiction and documentary.
Anyways. This book might not be the best reference, but it is worth while looking in to. Wish I could understand german better.

@Wastemoreland

Hi Wasty, maybe the Google translator programme will help you a little - you can choose from German/Deutsch into Danish or English for example. ;)

https://translate.google.de/

Or if the link does not work, just search for "Google Translator" in Google.

So it says for example: "In Instandsetzung befindliche Fahrzeuge" -> Køretøjer placeret i afsnittet Vedligeholdelse.

@Bootie and @Wastemoreland : And thank you for the heads up about this book and the link of course! Great! :)

That´s right. And that´s very likely! So longer the war lasted so fewer the combat ready vehicles. Especially in the last stage there were tanks/mechanized divisions only on the paper yet. In reality often these formations consisted only of numbers what could be counted on one hand if they vehicles at all.

The chart has 3 numbers listed as the following.

It could have been 1/1/1 just for an example.

Looks right!

Summe vorhandener Fahrzeuge (all existing vehicles)
Summe einsatzbereiter Fahrzeuge (all combat ready vehicles)
In Instandansetzung befindliche Fahrzeuge. (all vehicles under repair)

Thanks for the translation. I can understand bits and parts of it because I speak danish and also because of all those war-movies I´ve seen, fiction and documentary.

Always a pleasure!

Thanks Shorker and Sempai. You´ve been helpful.
And you are welcome to ask for any info from the book if need be, all of you.

In the future I´ll do that surly! Currently I have my plate full with ideas for battles and tournaments. Thanky You, too!
