its official there will be no mod support for total war Warhammer I dont know if anybody cares about this but I just thought it was something that people should know before the game comes out

it also turns out that they are removing a lot of matched combat animations and going for a combat system more like medieval 2 where somebody just swings at units

Well that's disappointing.

Could be a good thing. I think the animations forced soldiers to have 1 on 1 fights always. The old system didn't have that and had for example 3 men fighting one which is more realistic.

In Attila they actually have a fairly convincing multi-aggressor fight animation, I'm pretty sure. I don't know if it was included in Rome 2, but the ground-level brawls are actually worth looking at once in awhile. That being said, I'm not surprised now that I think about it, because in Attila, you're basically looking at three sets of fighting animations (foot vs. foot, foot vs. mounted, mounted vs. mounted) but Warhammer has foot, mounted and epic units of widely varying sizes.

that is a good point

there have been a few examples of the animations and they look pretty good

some of the units in action

This one is on my wishlist! And I'm still an active Warhammer 40k player :)

You play the table top game?

Yes Sir I do :D. I play for over 12 years. I'm going to play a game this evening. I play Grey Knights and Iron Hands. I'm also going to the Dutch Grand Tournemant in October.

Gave up years ago as the rules got a bit to arcadey for my liking... then what they did to Fantasy over the last five years. o_O

WH40k
Craftworld Eldar (Biel-tan)
Necrons
Space Marines
Elysian Drop Troops (Forgeworld Army)

WFB
Dark Elves (but couldn't get the hang of them)
Empire - Marienburg themed army.

EDIT:
Battle Fleet Gothic
Eldar
Space Marines / Imperium

Epic: Armageddon <-- Best rules set of the lot!
Eldar

Everything is still in storage prior to the new house build.

Looking forward to this game but the the release schedule DLC policy seems a bit rough. Apparently only 4 factions to begin with, followed by next to full price modules for groups of other factions, (for instance all the elves in one). Will wait for the sales and the inevitable Create Assembly bugs to be ironed out.

also this is slightly off topic but there is a battlefleet gothic game in the works as well
