[TV] Star Trek: Strange New Worlds

Before I start gushing about how much I already like this show I should probably preface that by admitting I am an original "Trekker."
When the original series with Capt. James T. Kirk first hit the air waves (literally) I was hooked. And that is why I am so hyped about this
Star Trek series. It comes across as old school. It just has that vibe. And it is all pretty much due to the terrific performance put forth by Anson Mount
as Capt Christopher Pike. He is just absolutely charming and you will like him immediately. He's already got the interaction with Mr. Spock down cold.
Spock: Says something about the planet they are investigating.
Pike: "I'm all ears".
Spock: Turns around slowly, looks at Pike and raises an eye brow.
Pike: Grimaces slightly. "Figure of speech."
There have already been several times that looking at Mount in some scenes I've been stunned at how much I thought he looked like a slightly older
Wm Shatner. He could have easily have played Capt. Kirk if they'd wanted him to do so.
Paramount clearly expects this to be a significant success and the amount of money put into production values is immediately obvious. The CGI is
breathtaking and the physical sets have been spared no expense. Unlike those horribly cheesy sets from 1967. To be fair back in the day their budget
was close to zero.
Anyway, I'm pretty excited about this series. Something to look forward to.
Unfortunately, another show only streaming on Paramount+ atm.
