WIND EFFECTS
(vanilla AA2 Comb Ops)
Surprisingly the wind doesn't affect choppers, although it does affect smoke, as these tests disclose.
PIC 1- The wind is blowing strongly from the right (west) making the clouds race across the sky from right to left..
PIC 2- but even with Autohover disengaged, the chopper doesn't drift with the wind and didn't budge an inch laterally.
(I ran the test several times, sometimes letting several minutes pass to see if the chopper started drifting, but it never did)
PIC 3- however, smoke does drift as seen here after chucking a couple of smoke grenades.
SUMMARY- not having to worry about wind effects certainly makes landing choppers easier..
