Windows 11

That's exactly what happened to me. And it was not cheap to buy and have installed.
Considering I spend a lot of time in front of my pc the expense was easily justified...if a bit hard to swallow.
Yes you are properly right plus it's got to be cheaper than buying a new PC, .... they do vary in price will have to think on the best one to buy

One of my coworkers also had a machine that said it was not compatible. He had to replace the power supply - no that's not what was holding him back. To do that he had to update his BIOS after which the Win 11 upgrade software said his BIOS had an incompatible setting. I changed it and is now running Win 11.

Probably worth looking at what the Win 11 upgrade analysis says to see if there is something easy you can do. Perhaps see if there is a BIOS update for your machine. After which you might get lucky.

Is there a tool (on Win10) that doesn't only tell you whether you are Win11 ready but also why not if you aren't,

My gaming computer is definitely Win11 capable but the tool is not happy und doesn't say why.

I always thought the MS notice identified them. Oops. I found this: https://github.com/rcmaehl/WhyNotWin11

Looks useful. I don't know this person or have experience with their work. It is open source so you can check what the code is doing but probably a quick search will highlight any concerns. I did a very quick review and it looks good. Might be worth reading this first: https://www.tomsguide.com/how-to/ho...-compatibility-if-pc-health-check-doesnt-work
