This is an extensive collection from the onset of British Army involvement in Northern Ireland in the 60s (usually referred to as 'The Troubles'). @Bootie will have an insight into this, I feel sure. My dad did work in some parts of Belfast and Derry during the 70s and 80s, although relating to social housing conditions, rather than any military involvement.

Yeah, I grew up through some torrid times indeed... violence was never too far away. The strange thing is you become accustomed to the violence... deaths being announced on the news were no more shocking than the weather report... murders in your estate treated with an... 'ah well'. It was only when I left Northern Ireland in 1998 just before the Good Friday Agreement and moved to Scotland that I realised the gold fish bowl I was living in and realised there was more to life than 'The Troubles'.
