I feel I need to clear up some misunderstandings involving me recently. I was overlooked in the Operation Husky Tourney because I have not been as active in the forums as I once was and I stopped some non-tourney games I was playing. Most of you know I contracted Chronic Fatigue Syndrome at Xmas 2009 and haven't been able to work since. It gave me lots of time for CM and the forums. CM, FGM and the mates I've made here, have kept me sane while being stuck at home with the missus. About 3 months ago my condition worsened, and now, even time at the computer wears me out. Having 29 games going was a bit much, so I stopped most non-tourney games for now, as well as the time spent on the forum. I still have 11 games going and do try to read the forums every 2nd day, but don't sign in. I would just like to say that if I join a tourney and commit to playing in it I will ALWAYS HONOR my commitment and finish all games and the tourney. If there is any doubt please email me. I won't let my mates down. I love being part of your club and I hope to be for many years to come, if health allows. I and my missus both wish I could do a lot more than I can now(her wanting me to work, me wanting more CM).

Please don't think I'm whingeing or complaining, because I'm not. This is just an other challenge in life that we will get through. There are billions of people much more worse off than me. But please don't write me off.

Johnsy, sorry to hear about your poor health.
Hang in there tiger.

No need to worry about CM turns and so on, my best wishes for a quick recovery.

I´m sorry to hear You are still sick. Thought You would be on the way of recovery because You said You wanted to start a new buisness. So my honest wishes for a quick and full recovery! I´m sure You don´t need to worry about the members of FGM and their seeing/thinking of/about You. I can´t imagine that somebody of them will blame You for real life issues. So keep fighting back against the rigour of life and let me know if I can do something from Germany for You!

Greetings, old chap! :)

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome causes by viruses, results is severe pain, fatigue, depression , basically you can't function a normal life. According to my soon to be doctor (my wife) Johnsy you need to see Doctor who's know CFS and get on a well management pain control if you want your life back.

Good Luck Johnsy

..time at the computer wears me out...I still have 11 games going..

Don't think you're under any obligation to play if you don't want to mate, we're not just a wargaming club, we're a Discussion club too..:)
For example the CM ladder shows that 25 members played NO games at all in the last 6 months , that's fine, and I myself only played 8, I rabbited on in the forums instead, ha ha!
Heck, at one stage I even went about 4 months without having any games on the go at all, and at the moment I've only got 3 small, short games going, which is all I want.
I learnt long, long ago that it's a bad idea to force yourself to play if you don't feel like it because it just drains you, that's why I had to decline Lighthorses kind invitation to join his Spanish Civil War because a couple of games were 'huge', and I knew they'd knacker me.
Life is the same, just put your feet up and don't push yourself.
I was unemployed for 19 years straight at one time (I kid you not) due to a string of maladies associated with thyroid problems and a possible touch of CFS/ME in there but it didn't get me down, that was the hand Fate dealt me, so I just rolled with the punch and put my feet up. Then to cap it all my knee went and I took early retirement at 60, best move I ever made..:)

I'd like to thank you all for your support and well wishes. This is why I love being in this great club. I just wanted to make to point that if I join a tourney I will finish the tourney. The games that I stopped were all non-tourney games and were stopped with the agreement of my opponents.

The Doctors are saying that I could be like this for an other 2 years and may or may not fully recover. As for the new business, I've had to shut it down as that is the reason my condition worsened.

Your wife is right. In Australia only about 30% of Doctors believe in CFS. I have a Dr who does. They had me in hospital for 5 days last year and did everything from a Lumber puncture to CT scans to nuclear medicine scans.

I want to keep playing, I just have to do it with in my limits. Playing CM is my "happy place" and the one thing I still love to do. I'd rather have turns than read forums (Don't worry Bootie, I'm still reading the forums). The upcoming release of CM:BN has perked me up a lot and has given me something to look forward to.

Johnsy -- always good to have you around... and you always maintain your sense of humour, even when you're losing against me. :RpS_lol:

That seems to be happening a lot lately. :hail:

Hang in there Johnsy !! Looking at the pictures you have a lovely family to support you !

One other bright spot is that yuour doctor believes CFS is a real disease ! I read messages on internet that doctors in Belgium and Wales get suspended or fined because of their treatment of the disease. One even emigrated because the get rdidculed etc in their own country.
