Combat Mission Battle for Normandy - News
Monday, 03 January 2011

ImageTwo of our beta testers, Elvis and JonS, have just launched a series of After Action Reports from an ongoing head-to-head battle they're playing with a beta version of Combat Mission Battle for Normandy. The AAR provides the viewpoints of each players, who are not reading each other's postings, in this ongoing (fictional) battle to secure a key crossroads near la Campagne.

Don't miss this exciting series as it is being updated to its conclusion in the next days.

Here the part I loved
Still, one guy with a scoped rifle holding up a platoon – I like that. The really nice thing is that he’s been steadily inflicting casualties, and has kept them back far enough that they won’t have found the two minefields I thoughtfully placed along the cart track in anticipation of it’s use

Actually, that sniper fired so much that he blew through his entire ammo allocation of 50-odd rounds, funnily enough right around minute 20. I Quicked him back through the forest to meet the Kubel, where he loaded up with another 100 rounds, raced back again, and got back into the fight about 5 minutes later, this time overlooking the D-28.

Oh yes it does. Wait for the moment when what I'm working on is finally ingame! :biggrin1:

Oh, I'm just doing textures. It's only that you haven't seen what I'm texturing in the game yet. :tongue1:

My thoughts exactly on the sniper picture. When I read the "ran back to get 100 more rounds" I did a fist-pump-get-some.

Of course these things were already in Shock Force, but they're just way more exciting now :D

I am afrid Im going to have to wait until I get a system that will run it. CMAK is about the upper end of my capabilties with what I have.

I've been watching the German/American AAR threads daily since they appeared. I am SO excited for this game. There's some stuff being left out that I'll sorely miss from CMBO/CMBB, but overall I think this is going to be the definitive WWII strategy game. My friends and I are drooling over the screenshots and really excited about some American vs. German battles after playing CMBB for a while now (we all pretty much despise playing as the Russians).
