Well just as the title says really i was just wondering if there are any fellow wargames mini painters here?

My main passion is WH40K but lately have been thinking about the WWII table top game Bolt Action, sci-fi is all well and good but nothing beats a good old Sherman model ;)

My latest models finished.....

....and yes i apologize for the radio in the background! :p

I'd be interested i seeing what you guys paint. :)

Have a good weekend.

Yes did my fair share of War Hammer figures...taught my sons to paint in their young years, had many battles also. One sons was the Orcs, another Skeletons, another Chaos and I was the Empire. Brings back fond memories.
I had been working on a War of 1812 Chess set North American war that is. This all came crashing down after my accident in 2001 when a trust weighting 500-800 lbs hit me on the head...have not painted since...tried years ago but seem to have lost the touch. That being said I should try again.

I used to play Warhammer 40k (Dark Angels space marines) but I find WWII wargames more fun.
These days I play:

-Flames of War (I'm actually hosting a FoW tourney today inside the warmuseum @Overloon)
-Bolt Action
-Chain of Command

I've painted & played with Napoleonics 15mm, ACW 15mm, Colonial Wars 15mm, WW2 1/72nd & 15mm, D&D 20mm, Battletech and perhaps a few more that have been erased from my easy access memory.
Don't paint anymore, because once I discovered CMBO, I haven't been able to suspend my disbelief enough to push the pieces across a table, with the same sense of satisfaction I get in CM and the like.

Currently I am painting some Alban 28 mm British and French light infantry.

My next acquisition will be WW1 early Austrian-Hungarian and Russian forces for the ruleset Through the Mud and Blood by Too Fat Lardies.

Unfortunately I am the only miniature gamer in my town, possibly even province so I only play solo.

Do you guys have any pictures of your minis? I would love to see them!

Those are all historical settings i would love to have a try at gaming in, another would be the Age of Sail.....something about that period that i have always loved. Battletech is also another setting that really caught my eye, i loved the technical books about the mechs, it really made them feel alive to me at the time. :)

Yeah it suxs when you cant find anyone local to play against, i also played solo (that sounds wrong :p ) but have been lucky enough to meet a couple of local gamers with the same hobby tastes and we play once or twice a month....in fact im off this afternoon for a game. A game and club like this is one of the big advantage of the internet for me. :)

@2054172 you should deff have another go at painting mate if you enjoyed it in the past, even if you have lost your touch you will develop a new style im sure that will be just as good after a little time.

@Dutch Grenadier hope your going to post some pics of your tourney and the armies at it. ;) I do have a small Bolt Action british para force somewhere to start painting up.

Have fun and happy gaming all.

I am the only miniature gamer in my town

I had no problem finding opponents, it was finding opponents who weren't genetic throwbacks that didn't get culled.
Seriously, I have very high standards regarding where and who I spend my hobby time with, hence my loyalty to The FGM and it's merry band of men.

Nice job Fubar. I used to play and paint a lot a few years back (Games Workshop titles). Nowhere near as good as you are though.

Been searching high and low for some WH Fantasy stuff I sold (I had the pictures up on ebay) when I track it down I will post them up here...

For now here are some quick shots of some 10mm (maybe 15mm can't recall) WW2 figures I did to play Conflict of Heroes as a war-game - happy days...

I hear you, where I live now there's enough neanderthals to fill a cave..

Unfortunately their idea of fun involves watching Rugby, drinking Brandy and Coke and then having a punch up at the local bar.

Disclaimer : I like Rugby.

The tourney was again a great succes! This was the second time I organized it @Overloon war museum. Here are some pics of the day.

Very nice pics mate, I think i'd actually kill to be in a tourney like that.....looks like my idea of heaven! lol
I have the Bolt Action rules book and it looks like a nice system to game with but i've no idea what the Flames of War system is like, its a smaller scale than Bolt Action isn't it?

Damn you guys your almost making me cry...I have not played miniatures in years, and miss it dearly. No up in the frozen waste land (at least in winter) plays mini's. :(

This was my first crack at using an airbrush, have to say they are awesome tools but quite tricky to get the hang off!

Am i correct in thinking that 1/48 is the correct scale for Bolt Action?

Some work I did a few years back.
